Don't just read the words on the packaging, Read the list of ingredients
There is no current legal definition for the term "natural" when talking about skin care products & cosmetics. Companies have their own in-house
definitions for words like botanical, pure, organic, and natural, as a result we as consumers are at the mercy of the producers and manufacturers. Companies
dedicate huge marketing budgets in promoting the "natural" aspects of their products using terms such as natural and organic. This has lead to confusion among
consumers making it hard to choose the right products. The most important aspect to focus on when purchasing skin care products & cosmetics is the list of ingredients,
become aware of common chemicals that should be of concern. Many companies will list botanicals on the label of a product when there is only one or two drops of a highly processed herb extract or what they might
call "organic" ingredients, this is known in the cosmetic trade as “window dressing.” This tactic is used to distract you from all
of the chemicals that are in their products. Skin care and Cosmetic companies know you're busy and they're betting that you won't take the time to read
through the entire list of ingredients. Be a smart consumer and educate yourself and take the time to know what you are putting on and in your body. This is
your body and health. The industry of Skin Care Products & Cosmetics is widely untested and we don't know the long term effects of the synthetic ingredients put into our products. At BTrue Naturals we have set standard
definitions to help you in your search for safe effective natural skin care products. You can insure the products we sell follow these
guidelines. We have found that the ingredients in skin care products are classified under eight different categories: Preservatives, Fragraces, Colorants, Emulsifiers, Thickeners & Stabilizers, Emollients, Surfactants, Extenders & Solvents. Under each category we give a definition
of what it is, why it is in our skin care products and list all known ingredients from that category. Under each ingredient we have listed the benefits that
ingredient has along with where it originates from. We are still doing research on the chemicals and finding more
and more information as studies and articles come out, in turn we will keep updated our site to bring you the most recent information. Remember some of these
chemicals haven't been tested and the skin care industry is still widely untested. If you find information about certain products and or chemicals that
you believe are important please contact us and we will research that information. We are striving to bring you as a consumer the information you need to make
educated decision to make your life as healthy as possible.
